Weight gain has to do with your body’s ability to metabolize food. I also has to do with the amount of physical exercise you do, some people don’t burn as many calories as they consume because they live a sedentary lifestyle. Your thyroid also plays a part in this. The glands of the pituitary and the hypothalamus secrete hormones which can either release too much or too little. If you have symptoms of excessive sweating or excessive intolerance to cold, fatigue, weight gain, thirst and many other symptoms can be a red flag to go get this checked. It only takes a minor blood test for a diagnosis.

It really depends on how much and what you eat.

Weight gain is an increase in body weight. It is generally caused by the intake of excess calories, little exercise, or may be caused by a medical condition. One exception is bodybuilding, in which muscle is gained by workout routines.
