Why Are People So Obsessed With Weight? It’s Just A Bloody Number..?

It shouldn’t matter. Shouldn’t it matter more, if you’re going for an aesthetic external veiw, what you look like rather than the exact number you wiegh? I mean, look at most body builders. If you go by height to weight ratio, most of them would be considered obese; though most of them have hardly an ounce of fat on them… And everyone has a different bone density, or different proportions. I mean hell, I say my weight (without them able to see me), people think automatically, man she’s gotta be fat. 165 pounds; in a size 10 Yankee, size 12 Aussie; BMI: 21, 5′6″. I excersise. I have a baby that running after her keeps me fit, besides running, and walking. In real life, the weight shouldn’t matter. It bugs the crap out of me to see 12 year old girls having eating issues because they don’t want to be fat. Or asking how to loose weight. Girls of this age, that’s something their mind is preoccupied with. “Am I to fat? How do I loose weight? What weight should I be?”

Everyone has their own “performance measure” or some sort. Our community or society help by advertising them. Yes, it helps us measure ourself against the norm of society.
You judge yourself by Weight, for health.
The amount of MONEY , for your financial health.
For a man, The Length of your penis, for your sexual prowes.
    etc
    etc
Not encouraging anyone to ignore these numbers that runs our life, but more like, try to understand further what it really means.
Your Health is more important than how much you weight.. Your weight is only an indication of your health.

Weight does matter. Some people are severely overweight in which their weight can cause them many health problems and even kill them. And others are severely underweight which can also cause health problems and lead to death. I admit some people who are at healthy weights obsess over it to look a certain way or fit in to a certain group. Some of the kids who obsess over their weight may actually have a weight problem or are being influenced by the wrong people to look a certain way. But there are many people to have a good reason to worry about their weight and their health as well.
